Welcome to our garden! This is the 2008 St.Clair Garden and I wanted to share it with you because it’s always such a great garden. Our garden is tilled and ready for planting. Once we till it, it is covered with black plastic known as visqueen. Drainage holes are added. Bricks are used to anchor the plastic. Holes will be made when the plants go in and old carpeting will be used between the rows.
Our garden will grow lots of vegetables. We love tomatoes and hot peppers. They will take the majority of the 17 x 22 space. An eggplant is a marvel to grow and we love the flavor of them. Green peppers or sweet peppers and swiss chard will round out this garden. We may also grow some root vegetables such as radishes and carrots. There isn’t a space that will be wasted.
I wanted to document the 2008 St.Clair Garden with words and pictures. I think it’s important to grow your own vegetable garden for a few reasons, including economic and knowing what you’re getting. As we go along, day to day, you’ll see a gorgeous garden flourish. I hope you’ll stop back weekly to see it’s progress. You’ll be impressed.
